In the 21st century, a high school diploma is no longer enough to lead Americans to a good job and decent quality of life. The College Promise Campaign (Campaign) is a national, nonpartisan, local and state-led higher education initiative – beginning in America’s community colleges.
The Campaign will build widespread support for a free community college education for all responsible students and broad public understanding that a free community college education is an investment in America’s future and a necessary continuation of K-12 education.
Dear Walnut High School Families,
Dedicated to Learning (D2L), a nonprofit corporation founded by retired Walnut Valley USD Administrators to support our students, has offered several enrichment opportunities for our students over the past 4 years. Last year, D2L hosted an SAT / ACT Practice Test that proved to be a huge success for this years seniors as they determined which test was right for them, how they would perform on each exam, and if a tutoring program might benefit their preparation for college entrance exams. D2L is excited to provide the same opportunity to this year’s sophomore and junior class.
On Saturday August 27, D2L will provide a free SAT / ACT diagnostic test to 10th and 11th grade students. The test will be given in the Walnut High School Multi Purpose Room (MPR) at 8:00am.
Seats are limited and are first come first served. You can enroll for this opportunity online through the website link found on this email.
Results of the SAT / ACT Diagnostic test, as well as an informational seminar about the New SAT and ACT will be held on Monday August 29th at 7:00pm also in the Walnut High School MPR. D2L will have experts on hand to offer insights into both exams and to help students determine which test might suit them best. The results of the diagnostic test will also help our students anticipate how they will perform on these crucial exams.
